We import principally from Europe and North America, and we consider ourselves market leaders in many of the important species that originate from these regions.

We supply to professionals in the Furniture and Joinery Industries, either in bulk directly
ex-ship or in smaller lots from our extensive stock.

We believe that timber should be sourced purely from renewable resources and wherever possible we will supply from FSC suppliers who are members of the Forest Stewardship Council. All our stocks are carefully sourced from producers who use material felled from properly managed forests .

History
Temperate Hardwoods was established 10 years ago and is a typical example, both in size and organisation, of the modern Timber Trading company. We operate from modern offices in an eighteenth century house in the ancient market town of Great Dunmow. Using modern communications methods and sophisticated computer techniques we control large stocks situated at various locations around the country.

Temperate Flooring sources all of its supplies from the parent company. This ensures that only the highest quality timber is selected for use as flooring.
